The Process

When I edit the plays, the process I've got into is :

  • I would do a complete dialogue edit, so I'll have a scene, and each scene as one file, so one file is the dialogue, mixed down.
  • I'll archive those two tracks (you can archive stuff in Cakewalk, so it's no longer trying to process those tracks.)
  • Then all the work is on that mixed down track, which I will then add the atmos to, so if the atmos is a bit loud or soft, or I suddenly think "Oh dear, the dialogue needs to go up", I can just push the level of the dialogue up on the mix.  Or if it's still not loud enough I can go back to the individual tracks and remix it.
  • That is then mixed down and each scene is then compiled into an episode file.
